Coffee

Raw materials

At Pocket Bar we believe in the importance of quality and performance, not only of the final product, but also of the raw materials (quality 100% Arabica).

For this reason, we treat only Italian products in our production chain, in order to offer customers all over the world the pure essence of Italian tradition.

Our coffee comes from one of Turin’s greatest brands, COSTADORO, that has been working with passion and dedication for 130 years to select the best raw materials, and then, the finest roasting processes.

Processing

The coffee is prepared with one of the most ancient methods, the Neapolitan Mocha. Its functioning, opposite to that of the traditional mocha coffee maker, allows it to obtain a rather intense and compact taste.

Our mocha is composed of 2 tanks, placed one on top of the other. The tank put on the fire is filled with water, while the upper one with coffee powder. Once the water boils, the steam created will pass through the upper container though nozzles which will wet the coffee.

Our coffee is ready when there is no more water in the upper tank.

Tea

Raw materials

At Pocket Bar we believe in the importance of quality and performance, not only of the final product, but also of the raw materials (quality 100% Arabica).

For this reason, we treat/handle only Italian products in our production chain, in order to offer customers all over the world the pure essence of Italian tradition.

Our tea combines the taste of Assam quality black tea of East Frisian Islands with bits of vanilla. Our supplier is ALVEUS, a German company that lovingly and passionately selects, assembles, blends and packages everything exclusively by hand.

They also perform periodical inspection and tasting tasks to verify the suitability of every single ingredient in the blends, form an aesthetic and organoleptic point of view.
In this way they ensure the highest quality of tea, thus offering a unique pleasure to customers.

Processing

The tea is prepared through infusion, just like homemade tea.
This method allows us to extracts not only the flavours, but also the tannins, minerals, vitamins, essential oils and caffeine, which unlike coffee, are released slowly into water and then into your body, releasing/delivering a soothing and relaxing effect.

Out technologies

Ours is an innovative packaging that, thanks to its unique patented technologies: self-heating and self-cooling, is able to provide the convenience of having a hot or cold drink anywhere and anytime. Our package is an ORIGAMI consisting of 2 hermetically separated compartments capable of self-heating (or self-cooling) without recourse to external energy sources.

By pressing the part indicated on the package, an aluminium layer breaks inside one of the compartments, causing two types of natural controlled reactions: exothermic and endothermic.

This is because the calcium oxide, or ammonium salts in the case of self-cooling, contained in the envelope come into contact with water.

This reaction generates heat (or freshness) which is then transferred to the beverage contained in the other compartment and, consequently, is heated (or cooled) through the thermal conductivity of the tinplate.

Once the reaction has started, the temperature will vary, within 3 minutes (2 minutes in the case of self-cooling) of about + 30° C (-15° C) with respect to the room temperature and manage to maintain heat (or freshness) throughout the “coffee break”.

The agitation phase is important and necessary as it allows the liquid contained in one of the compartments to come into contact with the heat (or freshness) caused by the reaction.

In this way you get a drink ready to drink at the right temperature.
